A November to remember
The spirit of the harvest season is one I look forward to all year round. My sister’s birthday, Thanksgiving, and general fall merriment is on the doorstep. Even as I sit here the sound of rainfall surrounds me, the scent of cinnamon wafting through the air, the sweet promise of chicken soup (recipe coming soon) lingers.
I love the opportunity this season brings to gather our thoughts and ideas, take stock in what we’ve accomplished, and relish the opportunity to practice gratitude for the remainder of the year for what’s happened and what’s to come.
I’m excited to press forward, and rest a bit more. For me, this season encouraged reassessment as I learn to build trust in myself again and in the goodness of life. I don’t foresee stepping out of this season for a while, but this reaping, though wounding at times, is also for my benefit in the long run. If I can help it this month will be full of giving, delight, and creativity.
In November, it is my intent to do more of these things...
- Move daily, more yoga
- Take more naps
- Invest in my friendships
- Get out for long, lingering walks with little Beans pup
- Find still, thankful moments first thing in the morning and last thing before bed
- Explore the city with Asher
- Find more love for being completely alone
- More writing
- More capturing nature and beautiful moments on camera
- Read more
- More creativity
- More passion
- More gumption
- More ease
- More brimming love
I know there is more love to capture than we even realize. Sometimes it’s easy to stay in the embrace of a struggle, but the best thing we can do is to be brave enough to say, ‘no more’ and step out of it—and start to think only of the things that give us light and life.
Here’s to a November to remember...
