8-Free Nail Polish: Tenoverten

Non-toxic nail care is my new favorite discovery. To be honest, I was never the kind of girl to get my nails done regularly -- nail polish made my nails weaker and I preferred the natural look. BUT I started managing at Tenoverten, a salon that promotes non-toxic beauty and nail care -- and now I'm hooked. There are four NYC locations, one in Austin, TX and also one in LA. They have their own brand of nail polish and remover, free of the 8 harshest chemicals found in your average nail care product. If you live in one of the areas nearby, I recommend stopping by the salon to experience it for yourself, but you can also purchase the colors online here

About Tenoverten (in their own words):

The collection is composed of gorgeous, 8-free long-lasting colors and care that promote stronger and healthier nails. tenoverten’s color stories are not trend driven but are a response to what is beautiful and our clients' needs. A unique mix of neutrals, brights, deeps, and metallics, tenoverten polishes are designed to be smooth and streak-free, allowing for easy application at-home or in the salon. Each tenoverten polish is named after a street in Downtown Manhattan and embodies the essence of the unique neighborhoods that inspire them. In addition to polish, tenoverten offers nail care products that provide a more natural alternative to traditional treatments.
All tenoverten nail polish and nail care is rid of formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), toluene, formaldehyde resin, camphor, ethyl tosylamide, xylene, and triphenyl phosphate (TPHP), making them 8-free. tenoverten products are also cruelty free, vegan, and made in the USA in a factory that honors the Leaping Bunny Program manifesto. This program provides the best assurance that no animal testing is used in any phase of product development by the company, its laboratories or suppliers.

My favorite colors are Madison, Church and White. Pretty cool, right? And truly, unlike gel manicures, acrylics and regular nail polish, this brand doesn't mess with the integrity of the nail. Wiiiiiiiiiiiiin!
