Banana Berry + Almond Butter Smoothie
Smoothies offer a beautiful and energizing way to nourish your body in the summertime, particularly when you lack the time to eat all your fruits & veggies for the day. My go-to smoothie recipe packs quite a bit in so that it keeps me full for a good while. The fresher the ingredients, the better the smoothie tastes and feels in your body.
Inside, you'll find a decent amount of almond butter for some potassium and those healthy fats, which impart long lasting energy and satiation, banana for some natural sweetness and berries full of antioxidants that are great for your memory and digestive system. I like to add some supplementary greens with the Amazing Grass Greens in the berry flavor. A spoonful of chia seeds supply a rich source of omega 3 fatty acids, antioxidants, fiber, iron and calcium. And of course the Vital Proteins Collagen supplement is crucial (I talk more about this here, but I'll do a separate post on that another time).
- 1 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk (can also use water or unsweetened coconut milk)
- 1 small banana
- 1 cup berries (I like blueberries, strawberries and blackberries)
- 1-2 tbsp almond butter
- 1 scoop Amazing Grass Greens
- 1/2 scoop Vital Proteins Marine Collagen
- spoonful of chia seeds
Blend all the ingredients together and drink it on up. 😃
